Andy Allo is simply a breath of fresh air. Amongst a landslide of uninspiring and simple lyrics, an industry of spiritless and senseless content, Allo serves up a refreshing and serene haven of conscious musical poetry. The Cameroonian born and raised singer-songwriter is one of the music scenes exciting new budding artists who is breaking musical boundaries by creating her own soulful path.
Allo’s formula is also simple. With only a guitar that she delicately strums, her soft sultry vocals and a dab of humor, Allo has created her own genre of music that she calls Alter.Hip.Soul- a mix of alternative, hip hop and soul.
In 2009 the independent artist debuted her first album UnFresh, a collection of 12 original songs about the whirlwind experience of being in love, losing it and the continuous pursuit of happiness. The uninhibitedly honest and relatable album, which she wrote, co-produced and financed, has already generated a word-of-mouth buzz that has some deeming her the next big thing.
