d.l.loonabide (b.1964) was born dead but came back to life. he's been pale as a ghost ever since. early musical instruction came mostly from crickets, cicadas, birds and frogs. young loonabide soon began performing original improvisations using rubber bands and later, brass tubing. mr. stinson was a family friend and proprietor of his own shop (stinson's), a former gas station. it was up there on that stretch of highway twelve that overlaps the county line road. he could play the guitar and banjo and had a fine collection of fancy hollowbody electrics. he could play one song on the top three strings of the guitar and another on the bottom three strings at the same time. "i sure learned alot from ol' mister stinson." recalls loonabide today. "i also heard all the jukebox music playing consantly from 1964-1982 up there at tomenko's truck stop diner, where my dad and his buddies would hang out drinking coffee for hours. they also had a KISS pinball machine
