Roger Rocha & the Goldenhearts are carrying on the tradition of music made on non-virtual instruments.
We have a luxurious acoustic version of the songs with acoustic guitar, violin and cello & and a rock band version with electric guitar, electric bass & drums. Dipping into the blues-bag but coming out with a chamber-pop music score instead the band travels bumpy terrain, aften tossing out the set list, but always seeming to land on their feet.
Influences - the Beatles, Love, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, BB King, David Bowie and Django Reinhardt.
"I played the guitar night and day, never singing the songs that I wrote, but after band after band breaking up and leaving me without a job, I thought it's about time that I opened my mouth."
the Goldenhearts features Roger on Guitar & Vocals, Ari Gorman on Cello & Bass, Chad Tasky on Drums and percussion and various "gitan" on violin...(these days it's Elily Palen of dolorata, burning it up).
Keepin' it loose and strumming it tight, shake a leg and don't let the bedbugs bite. If we make you smile, then you make us wink and when you stay a while you may start to kink. Come see a show and have a ball, we don't bite but we'll burn the walls. Step in time to the fiddlers wail and sing the drummmers lonely tale.
