A folk guitarist gone horribly awry - I LOVE being a guitarist !! To play the guitar in San Francisco and in the San Francisco Bay Area, is just so cool; there are so many really great players here, the vibe just pushes me to be at my best, each time I open my guitar case. J.J. and the rest of the folks at Hotel Utah have made me feel right at home (thanx much !!). I also play electric guitar, and bass guitar, and do some vocals but lately I've been having most of my adventures with the nylon string. The thing I love so much about playing at the Utah, is that it lets me test out new material, and critic the performance later.
Playing at the Utah is always something I look forward to. My first time out at the Utah, (performing Sumner Street), is some of my better stuff; Saturday Night in the City, has some good energy; each song continues to evolve.
The Evolution of Flowers - basically came together in a single afternoon, and I played it that very evening. I normally don't go that quickly, so "the Evolution of Flowers" probably comes off as a little "sketchy," but at that time, I felt the need to finally get something new out. Blue Salsa starts out a little "off the cuff," but I somehow manage to pull myself together once I get into it - WHEW !! Hope U like !!
A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT to my musician friends in the North Bay.
PEACE - - -
