Jesse's Hotel Utah career goes back as far as the last millenium, shortly after his arrival to the Bay Area from Philadelphia on Halloween of 1997. Since that time he has performed at numerous venues (many of which, sadly, are venues no more), both as singer/songwriter and as piano playing sideman. You can hear his playing and singing on a number of albums from artists as local as San Francisco, and as distant as Cape Town, South Africa.
After releasing his first full length CD "Contents Under Pressure" in 2003, Jesse decided to learn a bit of the alchemy that is studio recording, and over the years he has cobbled together something vaguely resembling a recording studio.
Jesse has devoted much of the past few years to activism, which landed him in Crawford, Texas in August of 2005, when Cindy Sheehan made her courageous stand at George Bush's ranch. He brought with him his song "Sons and Daughters," which has become a favorite among many in the peace movement. As a result, a number of his songs have been receiving airplay on progressive radio all over the country, and he has performed them all over the United States at rallies, army bases, historical landmarks, political events, courthouses, rooftops, radio station parties, and even once while in handcuffs.
Jesse is currently recording his new batch of songs, whoring himself out as a piano player, and working on producing tracks with Leslie Rafferty. As he has consistently drawn horrendously high numbers, many of these are rather late night performances
